Privacy policy

The short version

The iOS app stores your trades, journal entries, watchlist, strategies, account labels, settings, and screenshots on your device unless you choose to back them up to iCloud. Online ticker search is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, the ticker text you search is sent to our server. To return matches and logos, our server may send matching symbols to Alpha Vantage, and the app may load images from Logo.dev or our image storage provider. This lookup does not send your notes, prices, position sizes, account labels, or screenshots. We do not use journal content for advertising or sell it.

Information the app handles

• Journal content. The app stores trade details, notes, tags, plans, recaps, watchlist items, strategies, account labels, and screenshots that you create.
• App settings. The app stores preferences such as appearance, timezone, reminders, and backup settings so the app can work as you configure it.
• Optional ticker search. If you turn on Online ticker search in Settings, the text you enter is sent to our server to find matching instruments. If a logo is missing, our server may send its symbol to Alpha Vantage. The app may load the logo from Logo.dev, which receives the company name and your IP address. You can leave this setting off and enter ticker symbols manually.
• Purchase status. If you use a paid feature, Apple and RevenueCat process purchase history to validate purchases and provide Pro access. RevenueCat also uses purchase history for subscription analytics in its dashboard. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID; the app does not send your name, email address, or journal content with purchase information. Trade Journal: Falcon does not receive your payment card number.

Where your data goes

Analytics are calculated from your local journal on your device. When Online ticker search is enabled, the app sends the search text to our server. If a logo is missing, our server may send its symbol to Alpha Vantage and store any returned image in our image storage. If no stored logo is available, the app may request the image from Logo.dev. That request includes the company name in its URL and your IP address. Logo.dev says it processes IP addresses, requested domains or URLs, and request timestamps for service delivery, usage metering, and security. It retains usage logs only as long as needed for service delivery, security, and billing; it does not publish a fixed retention period. You can read Logo.dev’s privacy policy. This feature does not send your saved journal notes, prices, position sizes, account labels, or screenshots.

Ticker search requests pass through Cloudflare, which may process your IP address and request details for routing and security. Our origin server keeps access logs for up to 14 days. These logs include the network address seen by the server, request method and URL, response status, referrer, and app or device user-agent. They do not include POST request bodies. The app sends search text in a POST body, so that text is not recorded in the origin access log. The API also supports a legacy GET search route; a search term sent in its URL may appear in that log. We do not keep a separate server-side search history. We have not verified Cloudflare logging or retention settings.

If you enable iCloud backup, the app writes a backup of your journal and attachments to its private iCloud container. Apple handles that storage under your Apple account and Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

Trade Journal: Falcon also has an administrator-only web dashboard. That dashboard processes administrator credentials and account information for access control. It is not a web companion for app users.

Sharing

Trade Journal: Falcon does not sell your personal information or journal content. The app does not include advertising or a general-purpose analytics SDK. Journal analytics are calculated on your device. Apple and RevenueCat receive purchase history for purchase validation, restore, and Pro access; RevenueCat also uses it for subscription analytics in its dashboard. The app configures RevenueCat with an anonymous app user ID and does not link it to your name, email address, or journal content. We do not use purchase history for advertising or cross-app tracking. If you enable Online ticker search, your search text is sent to our server; matching symbols may be sent to Alpha Vantage, and image requests may go to Logo.dev or our image storage provider to return ticker suggestions and logos.

Permissions

The app asks for permissions only when you use a feature that needs them, such as notifications for reminders or photo access for trade screenshots. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.

Retention and deletion

Local journal data remains on your device until you erase it in the app or remove the app. To erase it, open Settings → Danger zone → Erase all local data, type DELETE on the Erase data screen, and tap Erase local data. This erases saved trades, journal entries, watchlist items, strategies, journal templates, accounts, screenshots, and preferences. The app then creates an empty starter profile with one Main account and default settings.

Erasing local data does not automatically remove a copy already stored in iCloud. Remove the Trade Journal: Falcon backup from iCloud if you want that copy deleted too. Erasing app data does not cancel an App Store subscription or remove its purchase and trial eligibility state. Cancel subscriptions through your Apple account. Apple and RevenueCat manage purchase records under their own policies.

Security

Trade Journal: Falcon uses Apple platform storage protections for local files and does not promise that any storage system is completely risk-free. Keep your device, Apple account, and passcode secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s data practices change. We will update the date at the top of this page and provide any notices required by law.
